Walks

About the Area Walks

Although intended for members, non-members are welcome to attend up to three walks as guests.

The Area walks make use of public transport to get to the start points. Because of this they will not take place if, for any reason, the intended transport is cancelled.

Always check transport times near the date of the walk with the walk leaders or by calling:

  • 0161 228 7811 for buses and trams.
  • 08457 484950 for trains.

Sunday Walks

These are generally of a moderate grade. Please use public transport if possible.

Wednesday Walks

There are short and long Wednesday walks.

The short walks are of a moderate grade and do not exceed 8 miles.

The long walks may be more strenuous and can be longer than 10 miles.

Walks will not take place if for any reason the intended transport is cancelled. Please check the transport times near the date of the walk. Any queries regarding walks, contact either Sue Daber 0161 439 9359 or Gordon Campbell 0161 973 3859.

Change to Area Walk 26/11/2017

The Area Sunday Walk on 26th November, originally an Entwistle Circular, will now be a Bromley Cross Circular as there is no train to Entwistle nor replacement bus. The 10.03 train from Victoria will stop at Bolton, then there is replacement bus to Bromley Cross.
