Mileage: 12 miles

Ascent: There is a climb to on The Edge at the start of the walk.

Public Transport: 9.30 train Piccadilly.

Suggested Ticket: Day Return Alderley Edge.

Meeting Point(s): At the entrance of the platform of the departing 9.30 train at Piccadilly Station, and at Alderley Edge Station. Walk starts at Alderley Edge Station at 9.52, straight after the arrival of the train.

Route: Alderley Edge Station - The Edge - Hare Hill - Birtles - Monks Heath - Nether Alderley - Alderley Edge Station. Expected time back in Alderley Edge Station - no later than 16.00 for the 16.19 train back to Manchester.

Area Wednesday Longer Walk on 2nd January

This walk, which was previously unconfirmed, will be from Entwistle to Bromley Cross and led by Lesley Kenworthy.
