Bury Group Walk to Celebrate the Restoration of Redisher Steps

On 24th September 2023 Bury Ramblers held a walk celebrating the restoration of Redisher Steps, which Ramblers part-paid for, and to promote that section of the new GM Ringway route.

The steps are in the Woodland below Peel Tower on Holcombe Hill, Ramsbottom.

Having admired the plaque...

...we went down the 97 new steps. Definitely needed. Then more older steps, rather muddy, to the stream at the bottom.

Bury group members were joined by members from the Rochdale, Coach Rambles and Manchester and Salford groups. All enjoyed the walk, appreciated the steps, which previously deteriorated into a very muddy slope, lovely route and views. Plus the rain held off, despite falling on surrounding areas.
