PNFS Path Checkers
Margaret Manning and Salle Dare met the officers of the Peak and Northern Footpath Society (PNFS) in 2019 and agreed that the Area wanted to work more closely with them on footpath work so as not to duplicate work, but also to try and overcome the many gaps that exist.
PNFS has developed a system, called Path Checkers, for reporting Rights of Way problems:
From a smart phone, using an App.
By email.
By filling in a form on the PNFS website.
You can get full details about Path Checkers from the PNFS website
When a report is sent in, one of the PNFS Inspectors will investigate, inform the Highway Authority so that they can take action, and report back on progress.
